Before your fundraising campaign can begin accepting online sponsorship, your Fundmajor website must be connected to a Stripe account. Stripe is the secure payment platform used to process all online sponsorship payments and transfer funds directly to your organisation's bank account.

Whether you already have an existing Stripe account or have created a new one specifically for your campaign, connecting it to your Fundmajor website is an essential step before launching.

Connecting Your Stripe Account

There are two ways to connect your Stripe account to your Fundmajor website.

Option 1 – Add Your Fundmajor Contact as a Team Member (Recommended)

Our recommended approach is to add your Fundmajor contact as a Team Member within your Stripe account.

This allows them to securely configure the connection between Stripe and your Fundmajor website without you needing to locate or share any technical information.

There are several advantages to this approach:

• A quicker and simpler setup process.
• Reduced risk of configuration errors.
• Assistance with any payment queries during your campaign.
• Easier end-of-campaign reconciliation and reporting if required.

Your Fundmajor contact will only use this access to configure your Fundmajor website and assist with your fundraising campaign.

Option 2 – Provide Your Stripe API Keys

If you prefer, you can retrieve the required Stripe API Keys from your Stripe account and provide them to your Fundmajor contact, who will use them to connect your website.

While this method works perfectly well, we generally recommend the Team Member option as it provides greater flexibility should you require support during or after your campaign.

Check Your Payout Settings

If you have created a new Stripe account, we also recommend checking that your payout schedule is set to Automatic rather than Manual.

With Automatic Payouts, sponsorship funds received during your campaign will be transferred automatically to your nominated bank account every few days.

If Manual Payouts are selected, funds will remain in your Stripe account until someone logs in and manually initiates a transfer.
